BONS ARES RED 2021
altitude give the grapes an acidity and aromatic potential, unusual in this region. Beyond these characteristics, another particularity of this wine is its blend: between the New and Old World,
between traditional grape varieties (Touriga Nacional and Franca) and international ones, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, between lagares and stainless steel machines. This wine from Casa Ramos Pinto is a true example of innovative tradition. A modern classic.
Grape Varieties
45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Touriga Nacional e 15% Touriga Francesa.
Tasting Notes
Appearance - Clean and bright ruby color.
Aroma - The initial impression on the nose is warm and ripe, with prominent red fruits like strawberries and currants, along with floral aromas such as violets. After some time in the glass, a more subtle and complex character emerges: fresher fruit, notes of freshly cut grass, spices, and a toasted hint of wood.
Taste - The discovery continues on the palate with a full-bodied entry, persistent fruit, and a long, very fresh and structured finish. The Bons Ares Red 2019 perfectly balances the ripeness of the fruit and tannins, characteristic of a generally warm year, with a high acidity made possible by a very mild late summer. This wine shows great aging potential, with a vast complexity of aromas polished and refined by time in both cellar and bottle. Unquestionably, it represents a different Douro, both for its origin in the soil and altitude, and for the grape varieties that compose it.
